  • Olive Oil

PROagro uses olive fruits from the local regions of Laconia – Koroneiki (80%) and Athinolea (20%) - in the Greek Peloponnese, near historic Sparta, made famous by Helen of Troy. Koroneiki olive oil originated from the southern Peloponnese around Kalamata and Mani in Greece. This small olive, though difficult to cultivate, has a high yield of olive oil of exceptional quality.

From picking the fruit buds to pouring the oil, every endeavour is made to capture the natural and pure essence of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This is ensured by extracting and  carefully processing and storing the oil to preserve its unique flavour and texture.

  • Taste and Flavour

    AROMA

Characterised by the purest of aromas containing a blend of culinary herbs, citrus fruits and floral hints with exceptional length and balance.

    STYLE

A delicate to medium style with sweet, well-balanced fruit, pepper and light bitterness. It is largely herbaceous in character.

    TASTE

The flavours in the mouth begin with similar sweet tones of nuts, stone fruits and dried herbs, followed by quite strong watercress and tomato, and fade with a slightly bitter and pungent peppery bite.

  • Quality

Laconia’s ideal terrain produces one of the highest quality olive oils in the world.  That is why there is such strong demand for it within the neighbouring regions.  Only a small amount of the 100% natural olive oil has historically been made available to consumers outside the local Greek market.

Recognising the global demand for such exquisite, pure oils, PROagro takes great care to preserve for its international customers the unique natural characteristics of this invaluable offering that nature has provided.

PROagro produces only the finest extra virgin olive oils, from fruits that have been individually selected for their colour, ripeness and prime condition. Its strict agricultural, processing and quality control procedures comply fully with all relevant national and European Union requirements and standards.

    Very good source of Vitamins:

Vitamins can be divided into the fat soluble and water soluble varieties. Fat soluble vitamins, such as the ones found in olive oil, are generally not broken down by cooking.

They are stored in the liver and body fat for long periods so it is not essential to eat them with every meal. Cured whole olives have both water and fat soluble vitamins.

Vitamin E (a natural antioxidant): Olives have 1.6mg, or 2.3 IU (International Units) per tablespoon. One tablespoon provides 8% of RDA for vitamin E.

According to the USDA , vegetable oils such as olive oil are the second best source of Vitamins.
